Our retaining walls have 3 components: Footings, wall structure, and backfill.
We install the proper size poured concrete footing, reinforced with steel rebar. The wall structure is generally concrete block with cells filled with concrete and steel at intervals. Gravel backfill is used along the wall footing, with drainpipe and weepholes in the wall to relieve water pressure. The wall is then faced with the brick or stone material. We employ a structural engineer consultant to design walls over 4' tall.
